Help With Registration and Log-in

To create a member account, complete the registration form by choosing a unique user name (NetName) and a password. In both cases, we highly recommend NOT using a personal name or other personally identifying information, and we also ask that users do not choose anything that might be considered inappropriate language.

Give your age. There are no age limitations, so just say your real age. Enter your e-mail address if you'd like to receive newsletters or other messages from GirlSense, such as notices when someone's bought something from your boutique. Give a parent's address so we can let them know you've joined and indicate if you'd like us to save their address so we can send you your password if you forget it.

For inquiries about and assistance with registration to GirlSense, please call our toll-free number: 1-866-308-0363.

To get a reminder of the password you gave when you registered to GirlSense, click here and complete the online form. Your password will be mailed to your parents e-mail account.

It is necessary for you to log in exactly the same way you did when you registered - if you used CAPS, then you need to use CAPS; if you registered only in lowercase - then that's the way you need to do it when you log in.

You also might not be accepting cookies on your computer: cookies are what remember who you are on a site so that you don't, for example, need to enter your user name and password each time. Please check your Internet options to see if you have enabled cookies on your computer.

To check and change this, please do the following:

1. In your Internet Explorer browser, click the Tools menu.

2. Choose Internet Options.

3. Click the Security tab on the Internet Options properties window.
4. Click the Custom Level button and scroll down to:

- Allow paste operations via script

- Allow cookies that are stored on your computer

5. Set the security level to PROMPT to receive warnings when you are about to receive a cookie from a Web site or set it to ENABLE.

Kids under 13: Please ask your parents for help or permission before going to this link.

Try logging in exactly as you registered and let us know if everything's OK. If you continue to have trouble, please write to info@girlsense.com and send us the NetName and password you are trying to use to log in and we'll check them in our database.

It will NOT be necessary for you to register again. All you need to do is log in exactly the same way you did when you registered as a community member and you will now have access to ALL of the activities available on GirlSense.com.

Activities

We released a new Fashion Design Studio - and in order to be able to continue using the old fashions, it was necessary to convert them. The conversion tool was available for about 6 months before we finally closed access to it. Send us your NetName and password and we will provide you with temporary access to your old fashions so that you can convert them to the new fashion format.

Here are the instructions for uploading your picture to Facebook, to use as your profile picture:

1.       Click Change Picture on your FB profile

2.       Choose Upload a Picture

3.       Click Browse to locate your avatar on your computer

4.       Search through the picture files on your computer to find your file

5.       Click Open to add picture to your profile

To save an outfit, you need to own all the items in it - so if you've been "collecting" items from other boutiques you'll need to buy them. Once you own all the items in your outfit click the OUTFIT button in your My Fashions window (the camera icon) and give your outfit a name, description and keywords (makes finding it easier). Make sure your outfit has at least three but no more than ten items.

Miscellaneous

While it may seem like nothing happens when you flag an inappropriate comment or fashion item that is not the case. For every item that is flagged a notification is sent to a team of monitors who will review these items within 24 hours of the flag, and decide whether it should be deleted, and whether or not the sender/designer deserves to lose their account on GirlSense. Flagging is anonymous to members, and the person you flag will never know who flagged them - HOWEVER, our team of monitors WILL know who the flagger is, so don't flag for no reason, or just to be mean.

GirlSense complies with the guidelines set out by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and does not collect or allow the posting of any personal information from members 12 and under. All communication activities accessible by members of this age implement strict language filters and offer either lists of approved words or undergo monitoring, prior to posting.

For members 13 or older, we do not prevent the posting of personal information; however language filters are still in place to prevent the posting of explicitly rude or inappropriate language.

Nothing. KiddoNet.com is still around - we have just decided to combine the best with the best - so that now on GirlSense you'll be able to find the best KiddoNet activities. When we remove KiddoNet.com, we'll offer links to all the other popular KiddoNet activities we know you'd miss in our KiddoNet Archives.

This means that you will no longer need to pay a subscription fee to use our site. Instead, we'll have sponsored activities and advertisements from companies that sell products that are relevant and suitable to our users.
